Ilene Gold resides in Baltimore, Maryland, where she teaches art to young children, handcrafts jewelry, paints and creates collage artwork. The collage idea started by recreating famous paintings, made entirely from National Geographic magazines. As, this medium evolved, a new collection started with the recreation of Ilene Gold’s award winning photographs, using only National Geographic magazines. Details are important with each collage. In the picture of “The Parisian Girl on the Bike”, her hair ribbon matches the band at the bottom of her shirt, along with the dog”s bandana. She tries to capture a painterly quality with each collage.
